Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who loves tackling hard problems. Someone who thrives in large, interconnected systems, asks smart questions, and writes code that performs under pressure.
You will work across the Goodwin platform, owning high-impact projects that touch sourcing, payments, AI, and data. You will design architecture, write scalable code, and ship features that go live every week.
This role is for builders who can take an idea, figure it out, and deliver.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship backend systems weekly
- Lead complex projects in an evolving, high-scale codebase
- Collaborate with the founders, frontend, Ai, and product teams to deliver cohesive releases
- Improve performance, reliability, and efficiency across services
- Contribute to architectural and infrastructure decisions that define our future stack

What You’ll Work With
- AWS: deploying and scaling production systems
- Node.js: expert knowledge of backend frameworks and asynchronous design
- PostgreSQL: data modeling, indexing, and performance tuning
- REST APIs: designing secure, performant, maintainable endpoints
- Distributed Systems: building reliable, fault-tolerant architectures
Who You Are
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience with Node.js and AWS
- Strong grasp of APIs, databases, and distributed systems
- Proven ability to ship fast and solve complex problems with clarity
- Experience with fintech or AI-driven systems is a plus
- Calm under pressure, driven by craft, and quick when it counts
